Mdf 12″ Subwoofer Ring Speaker 3/4 Inch Pair Fiberglass Subwoofer and Speaker Accessory Type Box Hardware, Car Audio Accessory Type Subwoofer and Speaker Accessories
I have a completed MDF box but I wanted to spice up its looks a little bit… so I decided that using fiberglass cloth and resin I could make the shape of the box a little more interesting and then paint over the fiberglass so it looks real professional.
How many layers of fiberglass do I need for this though? Keep in mind the box is already quite sturdy with the MDF so the fiberglass is purely aesthetic.
I just want to make sure the fiberglass wont crack from the vibrations, but I'd also like to limit the $$$ spent on making it pretty. But with 4 fifteens pushing 5000 watts resting inches away I want to make sure it won't break.
Use as much as nessacary to obtain the look you are going for, id suggest trying to do it in layers but throwing it all on at once will work too. You could also cut ports in your subwoofer box then stick LED's instide that would create a cool look too.

This Sub enclosure fits perfectly inside me entire hatch(because I made it that way) so that I my pull it up and out so that I may get to the spare tire. It is light being fiberglass and is close to being done.

3 Planet Audio 10 inch RX single voice coil 4 ohms wired in parallel to a Planet Audio RXD 1000 at 1.3 ohms. 900 watts rms to each sub. Each sub is 300 watts max. Single cab Chevy Colorado 2006 Fiberglass enclosure tuned to 35 hertz. 2.7 cubic feet shared chamber. This was my first Fiberglass enclosure. The camera picks up a rattle that you can not hear whle you are in the truck. The truck has about $300 of dynomat so it is sound deadened. Head unit is a Clarion VX 409 with a Planet Audio PEQ 10 equalizer. Planet Audio RX.200 four Chanel Amplifier.

I have heard to use polyfil or fiberglass insulation. Which one is better? I have also heard to use 1" fiberglass sheets on the walls. I have never seen any insulation that thin. Would 4" work if you pressed it down and stapled it?
use polyfil, fiberglass is dirty, nasty and u have to use a facemask to work with it

it has 142k miles but the engine was rebuilt and gets 500-550 horsepower and the shipping would be from canada and would be paid for by previous owner… does this sound like a good deal and what should i know before buying or does it sound like a scam? the guy said the reason for selling was he cant drive for 6 months
You always gotta be careful with cars that have been modified.. Chances are its been abused. And if you haven't seen and tested the car yourself it could be extremely risky and end up costing you a lot of money.
