Just playing with a JL AUDIO 10W3V2-D2 after I repaired one of the Voice Coils before I put the dust cap back on, the one I repaired has black glue covering it under the dust cap, which can be seen in the video, the yellowish glue on the other coils is from the factory. These are very nice subs & actually sound great. Very well built, they seem really heavy duty other then the small problem this one had. In this video I was powering it with a 150 watt RMS ONKYO receiver (I do not remember the model). Of course I had the volume relatively low since it was not bolted in the box!

Cory just finished installing a custom box in the back of a local clients Camaro. He installed two Kenwood amplifiers, two 10″ JL 10W1 subwoofers and made a custom box. Go to a retail store and demo the subwoofers with your own source of music. If you have the box that would even be better for the demo. Your own ears are the final judge which one sounds good to you. Just stay with the name brand product like JL, JBL, Alpine, Infinity etc. Good luck.
