what would be the best amp for a MTX Thunder TS5512D subwoofer.?
here’s the link to the sub info. http://signature.crutchfield.com/s_236T5512D/MTX-Thunder-Square-TS5512D.html?search=MTX+Thunder+TS5512D&ssi=0
alright, thanks RJ
Nice sub with enclosure I might add. I would use a Mono amp that is stable at a 2ohm load (most are). At least a 300 watt RMS, this will not set you back too far. Then again you should let this thing POUND stretch its legs ya know. A good 500 watt amp is going to give you 600watts anyway. I personally would put a Rockford Fosgate 500-1bd on it. This amp will run cool and efficient You can find it brand new on ebay for a good price. Not only that, but you will get alot more then 500 watts out of this amp (more like 750 RMS).
Buy an amp that is CEA-2006 rated, Rockford Fosgate, Kicker, MTX, among others.

does anyone know the specs for a 15" mtx 4500 subwoofer. Thanks.?
Just a little added story— this is the lowest MTX sub, but dont be discouraged. In high school i stuck a pair of 15" mtx 3000 series (at that time the lowest of the low) in my GF’s SUV, with a 500 watt amp, in a big sealed box, and it would set off car alarms if we tried. Lotsa cone area!
